Mountain bike holidays in Oberhof

In Oberhof the Thuringian Forest shows its most beautiful side. Here, historic buildings and attractive sports facilities nestle in picturesque landscapes and idyllic floodplains. Oberhof knows better than almost any other place how to combine exciting sporting activities with recreation and relaxation. The perfectly groomed cross-country ski runs attract thousands of winter sports fans year after year. In spring and summer, thanks to exciting trails and well-maintained cycle paths, the landscape is transformed once again into a paradise for cyclists and MTB enthusiasts.

Downhill fun in the bike park

In the bike park of Oberhof, MTB fans will find everything that makes the downhill heart beat faster. The challenging bike park, which consists of three different trails, was planned and built together with icons of the MTB sport. This can be seen not only in the challenging technical passages and jumps, but also in the details, such as the fluid design of the trails and the first-class preparation of the piste

The Trails

The trails are suitable for both beginners and professionals. The heart of the park is the so-called t-wood trail, which offers countless waves, doubles, tables and riders on a total length of 950 metres. If you want to improve your technique, the Wies’n Trail is the right place for you. This part of the park is used by snowboarders in winter, which means that the trail offers a particularly large number of curve passages that are ideal for accelerating. Passionate downhillers, on the other hand, will find perfect conditions for stunts and jumps on the Fallbachtrail, whereby the trail section includes plenty of natural terrain and root fields. In 2020 the bike park will be extensively expanded.

Service in the park

For carefree MTB enjoyment, the park offers its own repair service and a washing station for bikes. In addition, various competitions take place in spring and summer, where professionals and ambitious beginners can compete against each other. However, fun and team spirit are always in the foreground.

Mountain bike holidays on the legendary Rennsteig cycle path

A highlight for all bike lovers and mountain bikers is the almost endless Rennsteig cycle path in the Thuringian Forest. The perfectly constructed cycle path leads through fascinating landscapes and offers unique nature experiences as well as sporting challenges. There are innumerable guided tours with different focal points. Professional cyclists as well as pleasure cyclists and families with children will get their money’s worth.

MTB-Tour on the Rennsteig

The legendary Rennsteig offers mountain bikers pure riding fun and adrenalin on its original length of 168 kilometres. The striking climbs challenge every fibre of the athlete’s being, while the demanding root passages simultaneously test the rider’s ability to react. It is the unconventional design of the trail that makes the Rennsteig a real highlight for every MTB enthusiast. The fact that more than 3,000 metres of altitude difference have to be overcome over the full length not only creates excellent training conditions, but also encourages absolute top performances.

Comprehensive service for perfect holiday enjoyment
