Another special attraction is the Rennsteig Garden. This is a botanical garden for mountain flora with an area of 7 hectares. Oberhof in winter is especially popular with cross-country skiers. The kilometres of cross-country trails invite you to spend an extensive day of cross-country skiing. But there are also courses for beginners, where you get a short introduction to the sport in 2 hours. But Oberhof also has an ace up its sleeve for friends of alpine skiing. The ski slope Fallbachlift has a piste of about 1000 m length, a floodlight system for evening skiing and also a snowmaking system. A comfortable chair lift takes you up directly above the racing sleds and bobsleigh run. But Oberhof is not only worthwhile because of the sporting activities – Thuringian handicrafts and Thuringian cuisine are an absolute highlight.
